Again

I never thought I’d be here,
hands trembling, heart open,
whispering a name that isn’t his.

I swore I had forgotten
how to be soft,
how to trust the weight of someone’s arms
without fearing they’d let go.

But then you,
steady as the tide,
patient as the quiet between breaths.
You looked at me like I was whole,
even when I wasn’t sure I was.

And now,
for the first time in too long,
I don’t just exist.
I feel.
I hope.
I love.

Again.
