December always catches me off guard. It’s like you blink, and suddenly the year is over. All those plans and resolutions from January feel like a distant memory, buried under the weight of everything that’s happened in between.
It’s funny how a year can feel like both a lifetime and a split second. So much changes, often without you even noticing. The people you leaned on might not be the same ones you started the year with. The things that mattered most back in January may have quietly shifted or disappeared entirely.
But looking back, I’m starting to realize it’s not just the big milestones or dramatic moments that shape us. It’s the smaller ones. Like a late-night conversation that stays with you long after it ends. Or a decision you made on a whim that turned out to be more important than you thought. These little moments are the ones that leave a lasting mark.
The end of the year always feels bittersweet. Part of me wants to hold on to the version of myself I was at the start, but another part knows that change is inevitable—and maybe even necessary. Growth doesn’t always feel good, but it’s what gets us ready for what’s next.
So, here’s to the moments that made this year what it was—the good ones, the tough ones, and the ones we didn’t even notice were important until later. And here’s to stepping into a new year, ready for whatever comes next.
