Origami

ByavatarEllie4 November 2024

I tuck my heart into neat lines,
carefully folding the edges
so it won’t spill over.

It’s easier to keep them small,
contained,
like a letter never sent.

Some days,
I forget it’s even there.
Other days,
I unfold them just enough
to remember.
